Dear CLIMB-BIG-DATA user,
This is our first newsletter and it’s great to have you on board with this exciting new project, created to serve the needs of microbiologists—to help you collaborate with colleagues, share data, find pre-installed software and get help from our team and community.
CLIMB evolves into CLIMB-BIG-DATA
We are delighted that UKRI has agreed to fund CLIMB-BIG-DATA. With >1,000 active users and >4,500 VMs fired up over the past few years, CLIMB has given us the expertise and infrastructure to build this ambitious follow-on project around your needs.
Our contribution to COG-UK consortium
CLIMB-BIG-DATA is providing computing support to the UK’s SARS-Cov-2 genome sequencing efforts, co-ordinated by the COG-UK Consortium, which involves CLIMB-BIG-DATA partners in Norwich, Birmingham and Cardiff.
COG-UK data is stored and released through our CLIMB-BIG-DATA infrastructure:
- All sequences (last updated 2020-05-08), 16380 sequences.
- Trimmed alignment after removing low coverage data (last updated 2020-05-08), 14277 sequences.
- Metadata (last updated 2020-05-08).
- Tree (Newick format) of GISAID and COG-UK samples (last updated 2020-05-08), Newick format.
