The COVID-19 Genomics UK Consortium (COG-UK) was launched in March 2020 as the United Kingdom went into lockdown. It brought together experts in pathogen genomics to sequence and understand different variants of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and their impact to inform policy and public health decisions.
